The Society
On 11-12-1981,
A group of doctors active in the field of Gastroenterology, incorporated to form The Hong Kong Society of Gastroenterology.
On 27-12-1981,
The inaugural meeting of the society was held. Professor G.B. Ong was elected as the first President of the society.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to advance the field of gastroenterology in Hong Kong by promoting research, education and collaboration. We aim to coordinate efforts among stakeholders to improve the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of gastroenterological diseases, ultimately reducing morbidity and mortality.
